Regionale 23. Deep Moments

In times of permanent, insatiable hunger for images, it is above all the small, unexpected things, encounters and incidents that provide us with profound moments of wonder, experience and reflection: the hidden beneath a silvery, wafer-thin surface of a tiny, no longer intact mirror, the image of a temporality that has become honey-sticky, the charm and magic of the banal, the wondrous transformation of matter, the overwhelming depths of a color, fragments of former architectural ornamentation, the respectful engagement with old art. The exhibition is dedicated to the experience of such touching, intensely felt moments.

Regionale is an annual group exhibition developed in the context of a cross-border cooperation of 18 institutions in Germany, France and Switzerland with a focus on local, contemporary art production in the three-country region around Basel.
